Practical tips to make the most of your Lampedusa vacation
Follow the Wind
In Lampedusa, wind determines which beaches to visit. With Mistral (from Northwest) go south (Guitgia, Cala Croce, Conigli). With Scirocco (from Southeast) go north (Mare Morto, Cala Creta).
Start Early
For Rabbit Beach arrive by 9:00 AM. For boat trips leave at 9:30 AM. Avoid peak hours (12-3 PM) due to intense heat.
Must See
Rabbit Island (book ahead!), Tabaccara by boat, Mare Morto for snorkeling and sunset from Albero Sole.
Boat Trip
Dedicate at least a full day to a boat trip. You'll see Tabaccara, Cala Pulcino and coves only accessible by sea. Lunch on board included.
Best Times for Photos
Flying boats at Tabaccara: 11 AM-2 PM (high sun). Sunsets: from Albero Sole or by boat. Conigli from above: early morning.
Don't Overdo It
Lampedusa is small, no need to rush. 2-3 beaches per day are enough. Leave time for sunset aperitifs and sea-view dinners.
